The Temple's Green Team is dedicated to:
• fostering & teaching environmentally-friendly practices
• encouraging resource conservation
• managing our property sustainably
Our committee members are introducing progressive environmental initiatives to our Temple family and our religious school, by exploring our history and philosophy and linking those legacies to contemporary spiritual practices. We have researched methods of reducing our congregation's environmental impact. We work to make sure that our building uses energy efficiently, that repairs and updates conform to modern management practices, and that we protect and enhance our grounds. Recent activities include introducing recycling throughout the building, planting a rain garden and composting Temple's organic refuse on the grounds, with plans to use the composted soil in our preschool's garden plots.
Join us, and bring your ideas for educational meeting topics and suggestions for improving the Temple's environmental profile. Contact Green Team co-chairs for details.
